General Job Overview of Positions and Locations:
1. Pharmacy Business Operations Manager - Zuckerberg San Francisco General Hospital & Trauma Center (ZSFG)
Purchasing operations oversight for on-campus clinics and drug recalls. Contract negotiations and establishment for pharmaceuticals and supplies and vendor management. Daily accounting oversight regarding accounts payable and receivable. Assist with developing and implementing financial ideas for financial and resource planning of the pharmaceutical and supply budget and oversight of the organizational budget. Analyze and prepare recommendations for financial plans, including annual resource allocations, future requirements, and operating forecasts. 340B Program Administrator for the San Francisco Health Network 340B Drug Pricing Program.
2. ZSFG Inpatient Pharmacy Supply Chain Logistics Supervisor - Zuckerberg San Francisco General Hospital & Trauma Center (ZSFG)
- Responsible for supervising Pharmacy Technicians and support staff to coordinate workflow and services related to drug and equipment/supplies procurement and inventory management in the Inpatient Pharmacy setting. Activities include but are not limited to the following responsibilities: Coordinates drug procurement operations and inventory management to ensure critical drug availability, accurate inventory value assessment, compliance to 340B program, optimized inventory turns, and minimized drug expirations. Coordinates inventory supply management to resolve/manage backorders, shortages or recalls and secures acceptable product alternatives when necessary. Collaborates with pharmacy staff and hospital departments as necessary for medication ordering, inventory, distribution, and record keeping. Continually reviews and analyzes operations recommending and implementing operational changes and new technologies that will enhance inventory management and Inpatient Pharmacy operations.
3. Medication Safety and Clinical Pharmacy Supervisor - Laguna Honda Hospital (LHH)
- As a leader in the pharmacy department for safe medication use, this position will work with LHH leaders across disciplines to jointly develop strategies and tactics to monitor and maintain ongoing medication safety improvements, proactively assess opportunities for improvement and potential system vulnerabilities, collaborate to provide education to the healthcare team; understand and apply best SNF medication practices. This position will play an integral role in how medication data is analyzed, presented at key committees, and used to drive improvement in medication safety across the hospital with the ultimate goal in ensuring CMS Survey Readiness.
- This position will be based at Laguna Honda Hospital and oversee a high-performing team of four clinical pharmacist, providing clinical oversight, mentorship and coaching, and work closely with the Pharmacy Director and Operation's Supervisor to align the clinical team's work with the department and hospital priorities.
4. BHS Pharmacy Operations Supervisor - 1380 Howard St.
- The CBHS Pharmacy Services team provides pharmaceutical services and medication expertise to support clinicians within the Behavioral Health System (BHS), a division of the San Francisco Department of Public Health, through a wellness and recovery model of care. We support system of care programs and serve as a safety net to clients to ensure continuous access to mental health medications for residents of San Francisco who receive Medi-Cal benefits and other San Francisco residents with limited resources. CBHS Pharmacy operations supervisor is an expert in using and adapting outpatient pharmacy systems to fulfill regulatory requirements and optimize care. This position manages the day-to- day pharmacy operations which may include providing or arranging for training for pharmacy staff, supervision of daily work activities of pharmacy staff schedules and assignments, lead using LEAN or other performance improvement/quality improvement principles in solving problems and understanding barriers, monitoring work performed in order to establish goals/performance metrics, track and improve compliance with regulatory requirements including but not limited to CA Pharmacy law, CDPH services title 22, DEA regulations and Center for Medicare & Medicaid services.

Role description
Under general direction, the Supervising Pharmacist provides supervision for pharmaceutical services within the San Francisco Department of Public Health to assure quality patient care, appropriate drug therapy and compliance with all applicable regulations.
The essential functions include:
- Manages, supervises, and schedules assigned personnel, including completing performance appraisals and carrying out appropriate disciplinary actions as needed;
- Designs, implements, and evaluates pharmaceutical services;
- Continuously interprets and assists in the development and implementation of departmental rules, regulations, and policies;
- Prepares and maintains reports, memoranda, and records;
- Communicates with physicians, nurses, and other health-care professionals, as well as the general public;
- Assists in managerial decisions including developing the budget;
- Develops and trains staff to support and enhance professional development;
- Procures pharmaceuticals and supplies and maintains inventory;
- May include acting in the capacity of the designated Pharmacist-in Charge of the facility pharmacy and
- Performs professional pharmacist duties as needed.
The Supervising Pharmacist also performs other related duties as assigned.
How to qualify
Minimum Qualifications
Experience and Training: Requires at least two (2) years (equivalent to 4,000 hours) of experience as a licensed pharmacist in a hospital pharmacy; or an equivalent combination of training and experience;
AND
License and Certification: Requires possession of a valid Registered Pharmacist license issued by the California State Board of Pharmacy (Please attach a copy)

One year of full-time employment is equivalent to 2,000 hours (2,000 hours of qualifying work experience is based on a 40-hour work week). Any overtime hours that you work above 40 hours per week are not included in the calculation to determine full-time employment.

Pharmacy Business Operations Manager:
- Bachelors Degree in Finance-related field or equivalent experience
- Masters in Business Administration

SELECTION PROCEDURES
Minimum Qualification Supplemental Questionnaire (Weight: Qualifying): Candidates will be emailed to complete a Supplemental Questionnaire as part of the employment application process. This Minimum Qualification Supplemental Questionnaire is designed to obtain specific information regarding an applicant's experience in relation to the Minimum Qualifications for this position. Applicants must also complete the official application. It is essential that applicants provide complete information in identifying their education, experience, and training. The Minimum Qualification Supplemental Questionnaire will be used to evaluate if the applicant possesses the required minimum qualifications.
Supplemental Questionnaire (Weight: 100%): Qualified candidates will be sent a supplemental questionnaire exam that must be completed by the set date. Candidates will be evaluated on their relative knowledge, skill, and ability levels in job-related areas. A passing score must be achieved on the Supplemental Questionnaire in order to be placed/ranked on the Eligible List. Candidate responses on the Supplemental Questionnaire cannot be changed once submitted. Candidates will be placed in rank order according to their final score on the Supplemental Questionnaire.
Eligible List/Score Report: A confidential eligible list of applicant names that have passed the civil service examination process will be created and used for certification purposes only. An examination score report will be established, so applicants can view the ranks, final scores, and number of eligible candidates. Applicant information, including names of applicants on the eligible list, shall not be made public unless required by law. However, an eligible list shall be made available for public inspection, upon request once the eligible list is exhausted or expired and referrals resolved. The eligible list/score report resulting from this civil service examination process is subject to change after adoption (e.g., as a result of appeals), as directed by the Human Resources Director or the Civil Service Commission.
Eligible List Duration: The duration of the eligible list resulting from this examination process will be of six (6) months and may be extended with the approval of the Human Resources Director.
Certification Rule: The certification rule for the eligible list resulting from this examination will be Rule of 3 scores. Additional selection processes may be conducted by the hiring department prior to making final hiring decisions.
Upon approval of the Human Resource Director (see Civil Service Rule 111A.26.5), the eligible list/score report resulting from this announcement may be used by other departments that also use this classification or a similar classification.
