Some quick tips before you apply
Getting everything ready
We are excited that you've chosen to apply for this opening with the City. Before you start the application, we have a few helpful tips:
- Resumé or job history - Be sure that this covers all of the experience that you will need to meet the role's qualifications, including supervisory experience, if necessary. It is highly recommended that you use the upload resumé feature at the top of the page to pre-fill your profile; this can save you some time.
-
Your email address - We use email to communicate, as well as to identify you in our systems.
It is crucial that you apply with an email that is unique to you, and not shared with others. - You must also have continued access to your email, so we recommend using a personal email
rather than an address associated with work or school.
Important note: If you lose access to your email, we will not be able to communicate with you about the role or assessment that you applied for and you may miss out on future opportunities. We are unable to update this for you later. - A note about copy and paste - If you choose to manually complete your experience and education, we recommend that you avoid copying and pasting from word processors like Microsoft Word. Instead, use the upload resumé feature at the top of the page or copy and paste from a text file or PDF.
- Certifications and/or licenses - If you have professional certifications or licenses, and especially if the role requires them, list them separately under "Education".
- Be sure to complete both pages - The application is two pages. Your profile is on page one, and the second page has some additional questions. Be sure to complete both parts to ensure that we receive your application.
I'm ready to go!
