Role description

Under general supervision, the Electrician Supervisor I assists in coordinating, delegating, directing and reviewing the installation, maintenance and repair of a variety of both high and low voltage streetlight electrical systems and their components.

Essential Functions:

1. Oversee streetlight and electrical distribution capital improvements.

2. Oversee construction of streetlight system improvements.

3. Estimate costs, time and materials required to install and/or repair a variety of industrial and institutional electrical systems.

4. Purchase material required for inventory and the installation and repair of electrical systems.

5.  Supervise subordinate personnel by coordinating, delegating, directing and reviewing work assignments; instructing crew in routine and emergency repair of a variety of electrical systems and their components. 

6. Class 7238 performs other related duties as required.

 

Work Location: 23 The Embarcadero / 10 Lombard, San Francisco, CA 94111

Hours: 6:00 am – 2:30 pm

How to qualify

Applicants must meet the minimum qualification requirement by the final filing date
unless otherwise noted.

Experience and Training Guidelines:

Completion of a recognized Electricians' apprenticeship program and two years verifiable experience installing, servicing and repairing both high and low voltage electrical systems of up to 600 volts, devices, and related components including Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC) and typical solenoid motor controllers as a journey-level Electrician; OR

 

A combination of training and verifiable work experience installing, servicing and repairing both high and low voltage electrical systems of up to 600 volts, devices, and related components including Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC) and typical solenoid motor controllers as a journey-level Electrician totaling six years; AND

 

Possession of a current valid driver license; AND

 

Possession of computer application skills necessary to perform the duties of an Electrician Supervisor I.
