Systems Division:
The Systems Division at Controller's Office manages the following enterprise-wide systems for the City: PeopleSoft Financials & Supply Chain Management, PeopleSoft Human Capital Management, PeopleSoft Enterprise Learning Management, Oracle Interaction Hub, Cognos Business Intelligence, and Informatica. For our PeopleSoft systems, we strive to keep updating to the latest version of the applications and PeopleTools engine.
The Controller’s Office is committed to enhancing and expanding application functionality to better support our users’ changing needs. Over the last 5-year period, we have launched new applications and products that have greatly increased and diversified our user base and amplified the need to improve how we assist our business partners to drive stakeholder value and desired business outcomes. l.
Role description
The PeopleSoft System Administrator is responsible for the administration, maintenance, patching and troubleshooting of the application of both PeopleSoft Enterprise applications and Oracle Business Intelligence applications. Under the PeopleSoft administrator side, it does include the maintenance and synchronization of the PeopleSoft Human Capital Management, PeopleSoft Financials and Supply Chain Management, PeopleSoft Enterprise Learning Management, and PeopleSoft Interaction Hub applications running under Linux and Windows OS. The designated PeopleSoft Administrator will work closely with the Database Administrator (DBA) to ensure the availability of both PeopleSoft and OBIEE databases and application processes. Works in close collaboration with the PeopleSoft and OBI development teams and as well as Infrastructure and network teams as required.
Essential Duties:
- Production support and management of the PeopleSoft/OBIEE production and non-production environments from the web server/middleware perspective.
- Research, analyze, evaluate, and stay current on industry best practice standards for these technologies.
- Maintaining and installing PeopleSoft infrastructure supporting tools: WebLogic, Tuxedo, Java, and MicroFocus COBOL.
- Troubleshooting WebLogic server, PeopleSoft application domains and Process Scheduler domains.
- Perform periodic PeopleSoft application environment refreshes.
- Create and execute work plans for applying PeopleSoft updates and patches.
- Perform integration of third-party software: Oracle Identity and Access Management, Microsoft Active Directory, TimeLink, and Phire Architect.
- Administer PeopleSoft security.
- Perform bundled project migrations using PeopleSoft Change Assistant, PeopleSoft Application Designer, or Phire Architect.
- Ability to participate in rotational on-call support.
- May include additional duties as assigned.
Candidates may work individually or as a key member of the PeopleSoft Administration team. This position will oversee and monitor performance across several PeopleSoft applications, and when required, takes steps to resolve issues.
How to qualify
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education:
An associate degree in computer science or a closely related field from an accredited college or university OR its equivalent in terms of total course credits/units [i.e., at least sixty (60) semester or ninety (90) quarter credits/units with a minimum of twenty (20) semester or thirty (30) quarter credits/units in computer science or a closely-related field].
Experience:
Three (3) years of experience analyzing, installing, configuring, enhancing, and/or maintaining the components of an enterprise network.
Substitution:
Additional experience as described above may be substituted for the required degree on a year-for-year basis (up to a maximum of two (2) years). One (1) year is equivalent to thirty (30) semester units/ forty-five (45) quarter units with a minimum of 10 semester / 15 quarter units in computer science or a closely related field.
DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS:
The stated desirable qualifications may be considered at the end of the selection process when candidates are referred for hiring
- Five (5) years of technical experience with PeopleSoft Architecture and PeopleSoft HCM and/or PeopleSoft FSCM Application administration, 9.2; PeopleTools 8.5x, PeopleSoft Infrastructure, Integration Broker configuration and monitoring, Process Scheduler maintenance, PeopleSoft Query security, and executing work plans for applying PeopleSoft updated and patches.
- Four (3) years’ experience in PeopleSoft PeopleTools Server Administration; including, installing and maintaining PeopleSoft infrastructure for web, application, batch and file servers, and related third-party supporting tools (WebLogic, Tuxedo, Elastic Search, and MicroFocus Cobol);
- Three (3) years of PeopleSoft PeopleTools Update and Upgrade Tools 8.5x; including, performing bundled project migrations using PeopleSoft Change Assistant tool and Application Designer;
- Four (5) years of Oracle RDBMS SQL experience.
- Four (4) years’ experience with Oracle BI maintenance and support;
- Four (3) years of PeopleSoft PeopleTools Security
