Role description

You are a learning and development leader who will enable the collaborative team responsible for airport operations within the Airport Integrated Operations Center (AIOC). The AIOC will be our 24/7 guest centric nerve center with end-to-end visibility through a common operating picture. The AIOC will be staffed with skilled teams and decision makers that set the Daily Operations Plan, mitigate pain points and share information to promote healthy airport operations. The AIOC will be more than a room with innovative technology and skilled operators; it is a mindset that drives our day-to-day operation to create a seamless and responsive travel experience for everyone. The AIOC will create an extraordinary guest experience through centralized operational control - enabling informed, data-driven decisions and managing all reported issues with care, while working in collaboration to provide a safe, secure, and seamless guest experience.

As the Talent Development Coordinator, you will play a pivotal role in our mission to enrich, advance, and streamline all operational activities at SFO, with a primary focus on enhancing the guest experience. Your expertise will shine as you lead curriculum development, collaborating with specialists across various operational domains, including airside, landside, and terminals.

 

Your impact:

  • People Management: You’ll manage talent development projects, supervising and evaluating the Talent Development Partners. Your role includes ensuring timely delivery and seamless collaboration, while optimizing the team’s training calendar.
  • Curriculum Development: You’ll be the visionary behind our training programs, designing content that encompasses AIOC specialty systems, processes, power skills for seamless collaboration, leadership, change management, collaborative decision-making, and, most importantly, enhancing the guest experience.
  • Adaptability: The AIOC’s training needs will evolve, and you’ll be at the forefront of meeting those changes. This means developing and delivering new curricula to keep our team at the cutting edge while ensuring a guest-centric approach.
  • Collaboration: Under the strategic guidance of the People Performance and Development team and the tactical direction of the AIOC Director, you’ll be the go-to person for ensuring all AIOC members access and receive relevant training, with a strong emphasis on delivering exceptional guest experiences.
  • Reporting and Promotion: You’ll closely monitor training requirements, ensuring that each team member possesses the knowledge and skills needed to thrive in our integrated operating environment, with an unwavering commitment to improving the guest experience. You’ll create robust reporting for various learning programs and develop strategies to boost program enrollments, completion, feedback collection, and continuous improvement.
  • Delivery: In addition to planning, you’ll actively deliver specified training, aligning with the training plans and concepts you support or create, while fostering an atmosphere dedicated to enhancing the guest experience.
  • Logistics Management: You’ll manage the end-to-end logistics for learning and development programs, from scheduling to room bookings, participant communications, and materials preparation, always with equity and inclusion in mind.
  • Learning Management System: You will administer the learning management system (LMS), optimizing the system and managing course setup, enrollment, and reporting for various programs.

Location:  San Francisco International Airport – Airport Integrated Operations Center

Working Hours: Full-time, 40 hours per week. Primarily Monday – Friday, 8 a.m. - 5 p.m. Occasional early morning, evening and/or weekend work hours may be required to present and facilitate course offerings.

How to qualify

Education: Possession of a baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university; AND

Experience: Four (4) years of verifiable experience designing, organizing, and conducting employee training programs.

Substitution:

Education Substitution: Additional qualifying experience may substitute for the degree requirement on a year-for-year basis for up to two (2) years, (30 semester/45 quarter units equals one year).

Experience Substitution: Possession of a master’s degree in Education may substitute for one (1) year of the required experience.

Experience Substitution: Verifiable experience in teaching adults and developing lesson plans may substitute for the required experience on a year-for-year basis for up to two (2) years.

Desirable Qualifications/ What you’ll bring to SFO:

  • The ability to create learning and development training in support of SFO’s operational strategy.
  • A proven track record in curriculum development track record for both power skills and technical, hands-on instruction.
  • A passion for facilitation, whether in virtual and in-person courses.
  • Expertise in training technology and presentation platforms.
  • Experience supporting a matrixed team within a large organization.
  • A embodiment of SFO’s Core Values, including a passion for guest and operational excellence.
  • A natural talent for facilitating relationships with both internal SFO stakeholders and vendors.
  • Agility and proactivity, combined with strong prioritization and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in Learning Management System (LMS) technologies.
  • A proven track record in program and project management.

One year full-time employment is equivalent to 2,000 hours (2,000 hours of qualifying work experience is based on a 40 hour work week). Any overtime hours that you work above 40 hours per week are not included in the calculation to determine full-time employment.
