The Bureau of Building and Street Repair (BSR) provides professional construction, repair, and remodeling to City-owned facilities. We perform emergency-repair services twenty-four (24) hours a day to ensure that Police, Fire, and other Public Safety operations are fully functional; and oversee paving and street repair work, including patch paving and filling potholes, as well sewer repair, which includes brickwork.
Public Works currently has a vacancy for the position of Maintenance Scheduler (7219) within our Bureau of Building and Street Repair.
Role description
Under general supervision, in the role of Maintenance Scheduler, you will be responsible for organizing and arranging both routine and preventive maintenance tasks for facilities and equipment, utilizing a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) to ensure efficient operations.
Important and Essential Duties:
Your duties as a Maintenance Scheduler may include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Process and schedule departmental work requests for various types of internal and partnering agencies' preventive and corrective maintenance and repair projects.
- Drafting and updating schedules to perform corrective and preventive maintenance.
- Reporting difficult maintenance cases to a supervisor.
- Preparing reports by compiling and assembling data on all maintenance and repair activities, including but not limited to budget analysis and expenditures.
- Interacting effectively and courteously with managers, co-workers, contractors, inspectors, and other personnel.
- Using the CMMS program to create and assign funded service orders to the appropriate trade shops and create estimates for projected labor and material expenditures.
- May need to drive a departmental vehicle.
How to qualify
Minimum Qualifications:
Experience:
One (1) year of verifiable administrative experience (i.e. coordinating such functions and procedures as maintaining records, compiling and assembling data, preparing documents, and controlling workflow) in facilities maintenance or construction. This experience must include using a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) program.
License and Certification:
Possession of a valid California Class C driver's license.
CONDITION OF EMPLOYMENT
Valid Driver’s License: Applicants must possess a valid State of California driver’s license with no restrictions that would prohibit them from legally performing the essential functions and duties of the role.
Desirable Qualifications:
