1229 Special Examiner
According to Ben Houston Police Dept. Human Reources Manager, on June 17, 2009, class 1229 Special Examiner has no job specification or job announcement, a Category 16 TEX As-Needed position and a per diem compensation. The Police Academy decides the recruitment and hiring of class 1229 for specialized skills and education to be an instructor for a limited duration. Furthermore, the Police Department is only responsible to process the appointment and compensation of the employees. In essence, class 1229 is only used for salary gradiation.
Standard information
Disaster service work
All City and County of San Francisco employees are designated Disaster Service Workers through state and local law (California Government Code Section 3100-3109). Employment with the City requires the affirmation of a loyalty oath to this effect. Employees are required to complete all Disaster Service Worker-related training as assigned, and to return to work as ordered in the event of an emergency.
